I have merged this article with Holding (aviation) since both are about the same thing.

I also want to get some hold illustrations in this page in the next few days.

Ok, graphics are up. Can't decide whether I like them better if the 'Speed Limit' text is forced down or not. Can anyone help out with this? More text would be ideal, but there's only so much to say about holding patterns.

Ok, these graphics get the point across, but really, they could stand a lot of improvement. Anyone who knows Photoshop or The Gimp care to pick up the challenge and make something that really looks nice?

I've uploaded some new SVG images, based on your originals. I also used this FAA page which shows the patterns (and also that the choice of entry is dependent on the direction the aircraft is coming from - should this be mentioned and illustrated.
