[edit]The second photograph needs shrinking. Unfortunately I don't have the ability to do that here. (It is too nice to crop, as you would lose much of the detail.) I have asked Mav to crop it if he gets the time. STÓD/ÉÍRE 23:52 Apr 2, 2003 (UTC)
- Done, I made two different smaller versions, [[Four-courts-statue-medium.jpg]] and [[Four-courts-statue-small.jpg]], and put the medium one in for now. Smaller one's there if anyone feels it's necessary. -- John Owens 00:24 Apr 3, 2003 (UTC)
- Hmm, it's not quite clear from what you said above if you thought cropping or shrinking was the right thing to do. Looking at it some more, I think it wouldn't hurt to lose some of the ceiling at the top, and maybe a little off the sides. If you'd rather it were that way, just give the word and I'll try that. -- John Owens
Thanks for doing it. No, I think cropping would be a bad idea. All decorative features were lost so it is worth showing all that the photo shows. It is an aspect of the interior of the building that at this probably nobody alive ever saw (if kids before 1922 did and are still alive, they were probably too young to remember) STÓD/ÉÍRE 00:31 Apr 3, 2003 (UTC)
- OK, it was just when you "asked Mav to crop it" that I began to doubt if that's what you'd meant. :) And I see someone knows how to fit it into the text better; I'll have to take a look how that's done. But I must point out, my grandfather was 20 in 1922, and he's still around. ;) Never heard of him having been to Ireland, though. -- John Owens
Opps. Did I say crop? Mea culpa. STÓD/ÉÍRE 22:58 Apr 3, 2003 (UTC)

Virtual reconstruction
[edit]At what point should the digital reconstruction project - here 'and many other places' be included? (There is enough material to make a start and reference it.) Jackiespeel (talk) 00:54, 14 December 2018 (UTC)
