This appears to be a high-school essay. It was originally posted as a speedy but it doesn't fit the criteria. No vote from me. —No-One Jones (m) 01:22, 30 Sep 2004 (UTC)

- Delete. Essay. But IMO this is a classic case where a welcome to a newbie was far more important than a VfD listing. The article was doing little harm, and the potential to gain a good writer and researcher is obvious. Andrewa 04:36, 30 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Merge The work is okay, maybe shorten it a bit and move under American Revolution. --Asmodai 13:22, Sep 30, 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. I agree with Andrewa. Unfortunately, the article unequivocally states a judgement (of the question posed in its awkwardly phrased title) at the end, which makes it too POV to keep as is now that it is here, IMO. Curiously, there is evidence the American Revolution was aided and abetted by Freemasons on both sides, so I could argue that it was occult as well as economically or politically motivated. - Delete. Pat answer that doesn't get into the complications of economics influencing politics and vice versa. A POV simplisitic analysis. It does read like a high school essay designed to show reasoning ability. Jallan 17:33, 30 Sep 2004 (UTC)

- Delete. Essay. Merge with substantial cleanup would work too. — Gwalla | Talk 20:56, 30 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. Too POV - it presents reasons why the revolutionary war was triggered by economics without examining the counter-arguments at all, or how the factors fed off of eachother and/or changed as the independence movement developed. Nevertheless contains some very pertinent facts which should be merged into American Revolution. --Jll 00:14, 2 Oct 2004 (UTC)
