From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Transport

Welcome to the WikiProject Transport! We are a group of Wikipedia editors that work on topics related to transport. We have a goal of presenting all articles in a consistent, legible and informative format.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them on our discussion page or try for a quicker response on the project coordinator's (currently Rcsprinter123 (talk · contribs)) talk page.

What do we do?

Our goal is to build the foremost free-content encyclopedia of transport in the English language by:

  • Creating, improving, and maintaining articles that describe all aspects of transport;
  • Providing guidelines and recommendations for editors of transport articles; and
  • Serving as the central point of discussion for all issues related to transport in Wikipedia.

This project was created on 25 June 2004.

Getting started

This user is a participant in
WikiProject Transport.

This user is a participant in WikiProject Transport, and thinks you should join too!

You can add these userboxes to your user page by adding the code: {{User WikiProject Transport}} or {{User WikiProject Transport2}}. Task forces and child projects often have their own user boxes as well.

Tagging and assessment

To add an article to the Project, place the Transport Project Banner ({{WikiProject Transport}}) at the top of the article's talk page.

This form of the banner is suitable for most new articles:

{{WikiProject Transport
 |class=
 |importance=
 |attention=
 |listas=
 |maritime = <!-- set to yes if part of the Maritime transport task force -->
 |maritime-importance=
}}

For more information on tagging and assessing articles, see the assessment department.

Task forces

A task force is a type of WikiProject that has a special relationship with its parent project. Task forces will typically share resources for peer reviews and A-class reviews. A task force should populate the parent's "articles by quality" category. Also, a task force may conduct its discussions on the parent project's discussion page to facilitate discussion and it may use the parent project's banner.

It may be in the best interest of a smaller project to re-brand itself as a task force.

Current task forces of WP:TRANSPORT are:

Child projects

Child projects are WikiProjects that have declared themselves as children of this project, but do not use this project's machinery.
