Map Image Incorrect
[edit]The image of the state of Louisiana used on the St. Tammany Parish article is erroneous. Lake Pontchartrain's shoreline is absolutely incorrect while St. Tammany Parish's borders are also wrong. --Heavy 16:09, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, all the Louisiana parish locator maps show only the parish lines and none of the large bodies of water in the state. Technically, the maps are correct, showing the boundaries as they extend into Lake Pontchartrain. However I would agree that this is not the best depiction. I think that all the parish maps should show both Lakes Pontchartrain and Maurepas, as they both cover areas where parish lines converge and are both depicted in the locator maps used for cities and towns in Louisiana. This will be an issue that WikiProject New Orleans will deal with, as we are trying to improve the articles on parishes in the New Orleans area. VerruckteDan 16:31, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
Forgotten towns, villages, and hamlets of St. Tammany
[edit]Bush, Dave, Talisheek, Florenville, Hickory, Pearl River, Waldheim, Blond, Houltonville, Ramsay, Lewisburg, Chinchuba, and Hackney, Bedico , Haaswood, McClane city and the area known as Lee road all of these are on maps but not on wikipedia. Here is a link http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en%2F&t=h&ie=UTF8&om=1&s=AARTsJqIbeaPkdByy2q7ixKHH6on7UqGuQ&ll=30.488918,-89.931335&spn=0.284016,0.439453&z=11&output=embed"></iframe>

- Bush, Louisiana is there. Feel free to add the others if you have reliable sources on them. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 04:33, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
Look at the map please, I have seen your work I do not know how to make it as good as yours, and add up the populations of the few cities you had originally they do not add up to the parish total http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Abita+springs&ie=UTF8&ll=30.545704,-90.00206&spn=0.42433,0.63858&z=11&iwloc=addr&om=1&output=embed&s=AARTsJqg3_WUfCvWx0DyZrAXqBSzxkfl5w"></iframe>

- The sum of the populations of the cities, towns, etc with articles does not equal the parish total because of the large number of St. Tammany residents who live outside the incorporated areas. VerruckteDan 14:25, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
I know I lived in this area for 25 years, if I knew how to up load detailed pictures I would define and outline ever village in St. Tammany. Sorry the area that I refer to as Lee rd. is actually the village of Blond. One other thing the U.S. census is just a way to group people into nice little groups, for instance the Eden Isles cdp. If you went and asked 80 percent of the people that are supposed to live there they would tell you that Eden Isles is a subdivision, and that they do not live there, because I know a lot of people who used to outside of the subdivision. This is Eden Isles home page http://www.edenisles.com/realestate/index.htm they even say that they live in Slidell. 25- 30 percent of what the Census is calling Eden isles is Oak Harbor not a good detailed picture but you might get the point, it is just a golf course owned by the same people under a different corporate name. http://www.oakharborgolf.com/locations.htm. Here is another one it is a good link for another forgotten village Talisheek,http://www.hometownlocator.com/City/Talisheek-Louisiana.cfm. One more that I nearly forgot aboutSt. Benedict http://www.hometownlocator.com/City/Saint-Benedict-Louisiana.cfm. And here is more,http://maps.google.com/?sll=30.32861,-89.74444&spn=0.05,0.05 . New Orleans Greater metro area????
[edit]Greater Metro areas are a great tool for the census, problem with it is natural boundries. Lake Pontchartrain is 630 square miles or 1631 square km shaped like an oval. If a town B develops on the other side of the Grand Canyon is it a suburb of city A. I have seen nothing from the census beauru saying to points 24 miles apart are connectted(almost widestpoint of lake;Mandeville to Jefferson parish not N.O. parish), and at the other end of the lake on a map it looks like solid land on a map, but it is not it is swamp, marsh and a lake(east end of lake;Slidell to N.O. east). New Orleans East is swamp and marsh to say the least for a good 10 miles, If you get off the roads their is no dry land just swamp and marsh, and deep mud. In 30 years the only time you could have walked on it was a several years ago(5+) when it did not rain for about a year. The west end of the lake is a giant swamp beside Lake Maurepas, and yes I know that their are 7 brigdes across. Vesago1978 19:47, 24 September 2007 (UTC)jme1

Growth section
[edit]The article does not have a neutral pov, it implies a racist attitude on the behalf of the residents of St. Tammany. Racist to whom?? I agree that it does not have a nuetral pov, but real life is not nuetral. The people of St. Tammany are not racist, and you are a Democrat are you not? You are the first people to see racism where it does not exist.208.54.14.95 (talk) 00:36, 10 February 2008 (UTC)Vesago78
State Parks
[edit]I see that there's a section for "Nation protected areas," but what about State parks? Meaning by which Fairview-Riverside State Park and Fontainebleau State Park, which there is already a wiki article on. さきこ (talk) 08:00, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
Listing homes of elected officials
[edit]I think that is imprudent to list the names of every elected official in the area who received Katrina damage. The list would all inclusive. I am posting this explanation of why I removed a listing stating that a State Senator's whose home, not located in St. Tammany, was flooded. —Preceding unsigned comment added by SCPS70458 (talk • contribs) 18:39, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
