- Keep and improve - this was VfD'd only 5 minutes after creation. Why can't cleanup and expansion steps be used first? Also, the "Google test" has its limits and is not the sole verifiability method in existence, though there are several hits for the word "Salang". This could turn into a useable page. -- Netoholic @ 07:10, 7 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Delete original page, keep Mikkalai's diambig. Ambi 08:33, 7 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Comment: what actually is wrong with this page? Why should it not be cleaned up like a regular article? I note that whilst Mikkalai has placed a {{disputed}} tag on the article, there is no accompanying explanation (as promised by the tag itself) on the talk page. --Phil | Talk 11:29, Sep 7, 2004 (UTC)
- Delete original. It was/is genealogy to ethnobabble. The last paragraph seems to indicate that these famous "people" are just folks with that last name, wherever they may be and however their names were formed by local languages. So, why not let it get cleaned up? Well, because it's BS. There is no cleaning of this article, because helping it means makinig it a genealogy page, which Wikipedia Is Not or writing the history of an entirely otherwise unattested "tribe" of people by that last name. To suggest it is either exceptionally mistaken or such a desire to make a point as to be willing (again) to pass off misinformation. A disambiguation to every single place with that in its name is, well, a nice, long project. Geogre 12:31, 7 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- This is nonsnense. Delete. Just because there are lots of Google hits for the word doesn't mean that there are a people who live in both Scandinavia and Indochina and are the same people. RickK 18:28, Sep 7, 2004 (UTC)
