[edit]"Lapham" appears without additional identification in the Stockade section and is quoted there. His full name is not given until the succeeding section.
- The "(v.i.)" after his name stands for the Latin "vide infra", and is a standard abbreviation for "see below". Q.E.D., and all that. -- John Owens 18:05, 2003 Sep 13 (UTC)
Request for references
[edit]Hi, I am working to encourage implementation of the goals of the Wikipedia:Verifiability policy. Part of that is to make sure articles cite their sources. This is particularly important for featured articles, since they are a prominent part of Wikipedia. Further reading is not the same thing as proper references. Further reading could list works about the topic that were not ever consulted by the page authors. If some of the works listed in the further reading section were used to add or check material in the article, please list them in a references section instead. The Fact and Reference Check Project has more information. Thank you, and please leave me a message when you have added a few references to the article. - Taxman 19:33, Apr 21, 2005 (UTC)
- I'm stating the obvious here, but this is the best Wis. State Park article. I hope to see some of the others along the same lines. Good work.--Hraefen 20:56, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
- I'm making a request for removing it from FA status right now, needs some help this article. Thanks --Jaranda wat's sup 18:58, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

first settlement
[edit]here I read, it was settled first around 900, and this should be the Middle Mississippian Tradition. According to this Information from Wikipedias Page about the Mississippian Culture, this can't be true. The EARLY Mississippian Period alone is dated from 1000-1200 in most places there, the Middle M is dated to 1200-1400. Please forgive me my lousy english but I hope, I could help anyway a little bit -- Hartmann Schedel cheers 09:41, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- If I understand the associated articles correctly, the "Middle" refers to area, not time period. But then the map on Mississippian culture seems to show Aztalan well within the "Oneota" area. I think this bears more investigation. Thank you for pointing that out.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Gimme danger (talk • contribs) who should really know better
- thank you for the quick response gimme shelter. When I read your comment, I read again this infos and I didn't found any hint, it could be meant an "aerea". For me and my lousy english the meaning is very directly in the "time". Sure, this means nothing because my english is really not good and I "bite" myself through the articles - often with the help of online-translators -- Hartmann Schedel cheers 11:24, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- Whatever it means, this article deserves to be looked at again, since it has very few references. Please don't worry about your English; you are much better at English than I am at your language. :-) --Danger (talk) 12:41, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

You might want to include it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.138.92.180 (talk) 02:51, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
- There is no particular "you" on Wikipedia. Everyone can add content to articles, and that includes you. Eissink (talk) 22:52, 29 August 2020 (UTC).
You're an editor. I am not, nor do I want to be an editor on Wikipedia. If I can add it and not be an editor then I need to know how to do that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.248.13.32 (talk) 16:35, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
