Composition

[edit]

Neither in the opening nor the "Composition" section is it ever explicitly described how the Council is elected or appointed. Could someone who understands this with proper sourcing add this basic information about the formation and composition of this body? Criticalthinker (talk) 10:31, 19 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I understand this, now. Though, I'm still trying to figure out the write terminology to make this more clear to describe how national ministers are Council minister by virtue of being their country's ministers.
In any case, I have an additional question. The Council of the EU apparently plays a role in formally proposing candidates to be EU Commissioners. But it is not clear in which configuration they meet to make those proposals. Does anyone have any online sources that explain this? I've looked at the Treaty and various EU webpages, but this part of the procedure in appointing a new commission is not specifically laid out. There is no link in the text to European Union anywhere. Lots of links to sub-pages but none to the organisation itself. Pkoppenb (talk) 10:33, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

GA concerns

[edit]

I am concerned that this article no longer meets the good article criteria. Some of my concerns are outlined below:

  • I think the lead is too short and does not summarise all aspects of the article. The citations in the lead can be removed if the information is in the article body.
  • There is a single source orange banner at the top of "Foreign affairs", which has been there since 2015.
  • There are uncited statements throughout the article.

I anyone interested in addressing these concerns, or should this go to WP:GAR? Z1720 (talk) 20:02, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for raising the concern. I took care of the easy one: the Foreign Affairs section already had many sources. I likely do not have time to address the other concerns. meamemg (talk) 14:32, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There are several uncited statements, and the lead does not summarise all major aspects of the article. Z1720 (talk) 18:09, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Can you clarify where you think it is undersourced? There are citations on virtually every paragraph and I only see one citation needed tag. meamemg (talk) 16:16, 26 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Meamemg: I added cn tags for the paragraphs that need additional citations. Z1720 (talk) 16:46, 26 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The article is eligible for a {{primary sources}} cleanup tag. Needs a rewrite based on independent sources. (t · c) buidhe 03:47, 28 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@meamemg, do you intend to keep working on this? Thanks (please Reply to icon mention me on reply) Charlotte (Queen of Heartstalk) 23:12, 13 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
