[edit]High Voltage pop?!?!
Well, about half of the songs on there can easily be described as having a pop sound, so yes. (Specifically, "Stick Around," "Sould Stripper," "You Ain't Got A Hold On Me," "Love Song," and arguably "She's Got Balls.") The international version of High Voltage is admittedly very un-poppy, but that was essentially a repackaged version of T.N.T. Thehaikumaster 01:29, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
- I totally disagree - most of the album doesn't sound anything like the contemporary pop sound, except for the glam influences. 'Soul Stripper' is a long way from pop, although not as unpoppy as 'She's Got Balls' which is about as unpoppy as anything off "Dirty Deeds". "Love Song" is less rocky because it's a ballad, but it's not commercial. You can't compare it to today's pop - it has to be the pop of the time, which was very unheavy. - I have to admit to being largely unfamiliar with the contemporary pop music of the early-to-mid-'70s, so I'll concede the point. Have removed "pop" from this page and the main Australian High Voltage page. Thehaikumaster 13:17, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
Another Edition
[edit]Hi there, don't know if this is useful, but "it was never reissued by another label" isn't quite right. In Russia a company called CD Maximum licenses a lot of international albums for Russian release, and they do all of AC/DC's albums up to The Razor's Edge, including the original versions of TNT and High Voltage. They also put two albums on each disc (with no apparent system), so TNT comes with For Those About to Rock, and High Voltage comes with Back in Black. They're not bootlegs (you can check out the company at www.cd-maximum.ru), and they're quite easily available - I got mine dirt cheap on eBay. Cardinal Wurzel 18:36, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
- Those are pirates! We can't promote that here. They do not count as reissues! I know I'm bumping but this came up in a search. FotoPhest (talk) 02:56, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
Reissue Edit
[edit]Hello - I had read somewhere that the newly remastered and re-released "T.N.T." CD that came in the most recent AC/DC box set featured the shortened versions of several songs, namely High Voltage, that appeared slightly shorter on the international releases. Can anyone verify this? Kaempfer 18 (talk) 21:16, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
Evans
[edit]Evans didn't do backing vocals on any track and this is covered in his autobiography. He says its one of the reasons they initially gave for sacking him "we want someone who can sing." [1] FlatOut 09:04, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

Rock'n'Roll Singer song's music predates Bon Scott
[edit]I've recently listened to a bootleg audio recording of an AC/DC concert in March 1974, with Dave Evans on vocals, and the band plays a song named Rock'n'Roll Singer with same chorus as the one in the Bon Scott era but with different lyrics. Here's the link to listen to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZkftVUAqjc — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.39.218.10 (talk) 16:13, 3 February 2021 (UTC)

Requested move 15 September 2023
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: no consensus. Participants were unable to reach an agreement on whether the periods in "T.N.T." were sufficient to disambiguate the title under WP:DIFFPUNCT. (closed by non-admin page mover) ModernDayTrilobite (talk • contribs) 18:43, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
T.N.T. (album) → T.N.T. (AC/DC album) – Insufficient disambiguation; see TNT (Tanya Tucker album) and TNT (Tortoise album). 162 etc. (talk) 13:43, 15 September 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. Edward-Woodrow • talk 14:22, 23 September 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:DIFFPUNCT as the only album spelled with periods. Additionally, even if it were not punctuated differently, it's a borderline case of partial disambiguation in terms of page views over the other albums (14,714 views in the last 30 days for AC/DC album compared to 1,326 and 665 for the other two). Mdewman6 (talk) 22:50, 15 September 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose as unnecessary WP:OVERPRECISION. TNT (album) is already a redirect to the dab page and it got a total of exactly 11 hits all year so far! The other albums are not called "T.N.T.", and even if they were, this one would still be the clear primary topic. Station1 (talk) 23:11, 15 September 2023 (UTC)
- Support: Music is an auditory experience, and I'm pretty sure nobody can hear any difference between the names of these albums. Having the name of the recording artist in the title of an article about a work is generally helpful. — BarrelProof (talk) 23:38, 15 September 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose – I agree with Station1. There are no other albums that are specifically named T.N.T. Only AC/DC named it that. If there are other albums that are called "TNT" but named it like what AC/DC did, then this would be open by then. — VAUGHAN J. (TALK) 06:29, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
- Support per WP:DIFFPUNCT which requires a high level of consistency and distinction. This doesn't have it. In ictu oculi (talk) 07:36, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
