Nor is my suggestion to rename the article "List of prisons for people whose name begins with 'A' only". You stubornly refuse to address the issue of why this list is entitled 'for Poles', when it is patently about sites that were 'for' many people, including Poles. Yes, the problem is that these camps did not only detain Poles. Why not call it List of Soviet Union prison sites that detained people whose name began with 'A'? It would be true, in a sense, but deceptive because it does not tell the full story. It is a lie by ommision. Mark Richards 20:39, 10 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Before I do too much work...

I would like to improve this article but before I do too much work have a few comments/questions.

The article talks of Poles not Polish citizens. If a source talks about “Polish citizens” can I assume that at least some are Ethnic Poles would be present or does it have to clear state Poles were present?

The article talks about “many Polish victims”//”both before and after the Second World War”. I am assuming during is included as well? Further is it worth dividing the prisons into periods (i.e. before WWII, during WWII and after WWII).

What does prison site mean? Prisons? Gulags/penal labor camps? What about those deported and dump in remote parts of Siberia but not in a camp?Jniech (talk) 19:18, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

It’s been almost a month since I ask the above questions. Unless someone answers them soon, then I plan to work on the article using the following guidelines:

Where it clearly indicates Ethnic Pole then I will simply add the reference. Where there is doubt I will indicate Polish citizens. I will cover victims from pre-WWII to end of the Soviet union. I will include all types of places used for imprisonment but will do my best to indicate different types. I may or may not divide the article into sections based on time or location or type of imprisonment once I have developed it. Jniech (talk) 15:04, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
